Jerry “J. Cruse” McCruse is the Managing Director and driving force behind Sun Point Media & Events, LLC — a privately held, minority-owned media and event agency based in Houston, Texas.
A seasoned multicultural marketing professional, Jerry brings over two decades of hands-on experience in media strategy, brand marketing, product innovation, business development, and large-scale event production. Known for his creative vision and solution-driven approach, he’s built a career on connecting brands with audiences through powerful campaigns, memorable events, and meaningful experiences.
With a deep understanding of both consumer and business-to-business environments, Jerry specializes in taking projects from concept to execution, delivering results that move expectations forward.

Professional Experience
Jerry’s extensive media career includes leadership roles directing marketing and non-traditional revenue strategies for some of the nation’s largest radio, syndication, digital, and event brands — including Clear Channel (now iHeart), Service Broadcasting, American General Media, Emmis, Urban One, and Cumulus Media.
He also spearheaded multicultural consumer marketing at Silver Eagle, the country’s largest Anheuser-Busch distributor, where he managed brand relations and significantly increased case sales across African American and Asian markets.
Earlier in his career, Jerry honed his media planning expertise at global advertising agency Western International Media (now Initiative), managing media placement for major clients such as Nissan and The Home Depot.

Jerry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Over the years, he has contracted activation engagements with leading brands and events including Caesars Entertainment, Samsung, CES, Major League Baseball, The National Hardware Show, The NAB Show, and numerous key players in the adult beverage industry.

Jerry is a lifetime member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame and a recipient of both the Citizen Improving America Award from the Honey Brown Hope Foundation and the Excellence in Community Service Award from the City of Houston. He was recognized for his leadership and contributions to the “Hip Hop for HIV” public awareness campaign — one of the first successful mass testing initiatives in the United States.
